Enantio-conversion of chiral mixtures via optical pumping

Enantio-conversion with the help of electromagnetic fields is an essential issue due to chirality dependence many chemical, biological, and pharmaceutical processes. Here, we propose a method for this based on five-level double-$\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Delta}}$ model chiral molecules. By utilizing breaking left-right symmetry in two $\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Delta}}$-type substructures, can establish chiral-state-selective excitations one ground state being excited achiral other undisturbed. In meanwhile, will relax states. The effects simultaneously acting mixtures convert molecules different chiralities ones same chirality, i.e., enantio-conversion via optical pumping. We numerically show that highly efficient be achieved. Our works appearance decoherences without precise control pulse durations (pulse areas) or shapes. These advantages offer it promising features promoting future exploration enantio-conversion.
